# How to Create a Dynamic Video Campaign

> Learn how to create dynamic video campaigns with step-by-step instructions for customizing share pages, merge tags, and generation.

To create a dynamic video campaign, record a face video using the "watermelon" keyword in your intro, then open the Dynamic Videos section and click **Start Creating**. Select your video, turn on **AI voice cloning**, customize the landing page with merge tags, upload your contact CSV, and click **Generate Videos**. Voice cloning swaps "watermelon" for each contact's name so one recording personalizes videos for your whole list.

## Key takeaways

* Record with the **Sendspark Chrome extension** using the **face** recording option, since dynamic backgrounds replace what's behind you with each contact's website.
* Say the keyword **"watermelon"** once in your intro. With **AI voice cloning** on, Sendspark replaces it with each contact's name. Leave a small, subtle pause after "watermelon" for cleaner voice generation.
* **First name and email are required** when you upload contacts. Company and job title are optional but recommended, and Sendspark can extract a background URL from a business email domain.
* **Test with just a few contacts first.** Videos process in batches (up to 20 at a time), and you can click **Add More Contacts** to import more once you're happy.

In this tutorial, you'll learn the basics of creating a dynamic video.

**This provides clear and simple step-by-step instructions to cover all the angles and address any questions that may arise during the process:**

-Customize the video share page: Header, Message, Call to Action.

-Understand Merge Tags

-Generate the Dynamic Video

## How to create a dynamic video campaign

### 1. Record your video

Record with the Sendspark Chrome extension and choose the **face** recording option. Because dynamic backgrounds replace what's behind you with each contact's website, you record just yourself, and the feature drops each lead's website in as the background.

To personalize the audio, say the keyword **"watermelon"** in your intro (for example, "Hey watermelon, I'm Dan from tech support..."). AI voice cloning later replaces "watermelon" with each contact's name. Leave a small, subtle pause right after "watermelon", which helps the AI voice generation process the audio more cleanly without sounding unnatural.

### 2. Start the campaign and add your video

Open the **Dynamic Videos** section, name your tutorial or campaign, and click **Start Creating**. Then find your recording in the library and select it. You can also **upload**, **browse**, or **record** a new video from here. Wait a moment for it to save.

### 3. Turn on your options and voice cloning

Turn on the options you want, including **AI voice cloning**, which is what replaces the "watermelon" keyword with each contact's name so you can target your whole list from one recording. Give it a moment to finish setting up.

### 4. Customize the landing page

The panel on the right is the **share page** preview. Recipients first see a small preview of the video in their email; when they click it, a new tab opens with the full landing page. Fill it out so you can see how it will look:

* **Header** — add a merge tag such as **first name** to greet each viewer.
* **Message** — write your message and drop in variables like **company** (for example, "I love what \[company] does"). You can edit the **fallback text** that shows when a contact is missing that field.
* **Call to action** — add a button such as "Schedule a demo here" and paste your calendar or Calendly link as the destination.

Two extra options appear here: **cursor overlay** (shows your cursor to viewers) and **simulate scrolling** (see step 6).

### 5. Upload contacts and map fields

Download your contact list from whatever platform you use and import it as a **CSV**. Then map the fields:

* **First name** — required.
* **Email** — required.
* **Company** and **job title** — optional, but recommended so you can use them as variables in your template.

If you don't have a website for a contact, you can **extract the URL from their email** domain, as long as it's a business or company email.

### 6. Generate the videos

Click **Generate Videos**. While they process, the list shows "showing 3 of 20" because Sendspark processes up to **20 videos at a time** (with a larger list it shows, for example, 20 of 400). Click to view completed videos and **refresh** to see each one finish.

With **simulate scrolling** on, the finished video scrolls down the prospect's website behind you, adding a personal touch as if you're browsing their site. Without it, your camera sits over a static view of the site.

### 7. Test, then scale

Voice cloning and the "watermelon" keyword are optional. You can record a plain intro ("Hey there, I'm Dan from tech support...") and still use dynamic backgrounds. When you're ready, test with a few contacts first to get familiar with the flow, then click **Add More Contacts** to import additional CSVs or add contacts manually.

## Frequently asked questions

  <Accordion title="What does the 'watermelon' keyword do?">
    "Watermelon" is the placeholder you say in your intro. With AI voice cloning on, Sendspark replaces it with each contact's name, so one recording greets every contact personally. You can only say "watermelon" once per video; it's meant for the greeting, not repeated throughout.

  <Accordion title="Why does it say 'showing 3 of 20' while generating?">
    Sendspark processes videos in batches of up to 20 at a time. With a larger list it will show something like "20 of 400" as it works through them. Click to view completed videos and refresh to watch each finish.

  <Accordion title="Do I have to use voice cloning?">
    No. Voice cloning and the "watermelon" keyword are both optional. You can record a normal intro without them and still use dynamic backgrounds for a personalized touch.

  <Accordion title="What's the best way to start?">
    Test with just a few contacts first so you can get familiar with the flow and tweak anything before generating your whole list. Once you're happy, use Add More Contacts to scale up.
