This guide will show you how to send dynamically personalized videos through ConvertKit using Sendspark. Your subscribers will see their own name and contact information on each video, creating a personalized experience at scale.

Prerequisites

  • A Sendspark account with a video uploaded or recorded

  • A ConvertKit account with subscriber data

  • Email subscribers with contact properties (name, company, etc.)

Step 1: Set Up Your Brand Styling

Before creating personalized videos, customize your video landing pages to match your brand:

  1. Click Set Brand Styles when you first sign up

  2. Add your logo and brand colors

  3. This ensures a professional appearance for your company

Step 2: Add Dynamic Personalization to Your Video

You can personalize both the video caption and landing page content.

Customize Video Caption

  1. From your video's landing page, click Share Video

  2. Click Custom over the caption or Customize over the video thumbnail

  3. Edit the text overlay by clicking the personalization tokens you want to add

  4. This caption text will appear in your email

Customize Landing Page Content

  1. Add personalized text above or below the video (e.g., "Hi [First Name]")

  2. Include company-specific messaging (e.g., "Let's get [Company Name] rolling with Sendspark")

  3. Add a call-to-action button with a custom link for next steps

Tip: Your call-to-action can link to a calendar booking page, signup form, or any other step in your buyer journey.

Step 3: Enable ConvertKit Integration

  1. Click Share Video

  2. Look for the ConvertKit option and click it

  3. If you don't see ConvertKit, click Edit then Add

  4. Scroll through the integrations list and select ConvertKit

  5. Ensure there's a blue checkmark next to ConvertKit

  6. The dynamic code will be copied to your clipboard

Step 4: Add Video to Your ConvertKit Email

  1. Go to your ConvertKit email editor

  2. Delete any existing content in the area where you want the video

  3. Paste the copied code (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V) into the content area

  4. You'll see a fallback message (like "Hey there") until subscriber information is added

Note: You can customize the fallback message in Sendspark if needed.

Step 5: Test Your Personalized Video

  1. In ConvertKit, click Continue then Preview

  2. Preview the email as different contacts in your system

  3. Verify that each contact sees their personalized information on the video

  4. Send your email when ready

Tip: Always test with multiple subscriber profiles to ensure personalization is working correctly before sending to your entire list.

Results

Once set up, each subscriber will automatically see their own name and contact properties on the video thumbnail and content, creating a personalized experience that helps you connect with your audience at scale.
