# Create Dynamic Video Backgrounds from Email Domains

> Learn how to automatically create personalized dynamic video backgrounds in Sendspark using recipient email domains for B2B outreach.

You can turn any recipient's email address into a personalized video background using a Sendspark agentic workflow. Add a Data Cropping step that extracts the domain after the "@" (for example, [dan@sendspark.com](mailto:dan@sendspark.com) becomes sendspark.com), then feed that domain into the Background URL field of your Dynamic Video Campaign to generate branded backgrounds automatically.

## Key takeaways

* A three-part workflow powers this: a **trigger**, a **Data Cropping** step, and a **Dynamic Video Campaign** step.
* The **Data Cropping** tool extracts everything after the **"@"** in an email field — for example, `dan@sendspark.com` becomes `sendspark.com`.
* You insert that cropped domain into the **Background URL** field of your Dynamic Video Campaign step so the background becomes dynamic per contact.
* Any trigger works (a meeting booked, a form submission, a new contact created), making personalization at scale fully automated with no manual editing.

Turn any email address into a personalized background URL using agentic workflows.

This allows you to automatically generate branded or customized video backgrounds based on your contact’s email domain.

## ⚙️ How It Works

You’ll build a simple workflow with three parts:

## 1. Trigger your workflow

Start with any trigger, for example:

* A meeting booked
* A form submission
* A new contact created

***

## 2. Extract the email domain (Data Cropping)

Click the ➕ between steps and select:

**Tool → Data Cropping**

In this step:

* Select the **email field**
* Configure the cropping to extract everything **after the “@”**

👉 Example:\
`dan@sendspark.com` → `sendspark.com`

This will give you a clean domain you can reuse dynamically.

***

## 3. Use it in your Dynamic Video Campaign

In your **Dynamic Video Campaign** step:

* Go to the **Background URL** field
* Insert the output from the Data Cropping step

Now your background becomes dynamic based on the email domain.

***

## 💡 Example Use Case

If your contact is:

* `john@nike.com` → background could be Nike-themed
* `sarah@shopify.com` → background could be Shopify-themed

This creates a more personalized and relevant video experience automatically.

***

## 🚀 Why This Matters

* Personalization at scale
* No manual editing
* Works with any trigger
* Fully automated workflows

***

## ✅ Summary

By adding a **Data Cropping** step between your trigger and your video campaign, you can:

* Extract the email domain
* Convert it into a usable variable
* Power dynamic backgrounds automatically
