# Analytics Update — Percentage Watched

> Learn how to use the new percentage watched analytics feature to track video viewer engagement and understand viewing patterns.

Sendspark released the "% watched" feature on February 2nd, 2022, which shows the portion of your video that each viewer watched. Because the data wasn't captured before that date, the "% watched" column stays empty for older sessions. An empty value doesn't mean viewers skipped your video — only that the data wasn't recorded for that session.

## Key takeaways

* The "% watched" feature launched February 2nd, 2022 and shows how much of a video each viewer watched.
* Sessions from before that date have an empty "% watched" column because the data wasn't captured.
* An empty value doesn't mean viewers didn't watch — just that it wasn't recorded for that session.
* Going forward, "% watched" data is available for all viewer sessions.

On February 2nd, 2022 we released a "% watched" feature to let you see the portion of your video viewers have watched.

The bad news is we don't have "% watched" data from before February 2nd, 2022, so **the** **"% watched" column will be empty for those sessions**.

**👆 This does NOT mean that viewers did not see your entire video — just that we did not capture the data for this session.**

The good news is that going forward you'll be able to see "% watched" data for all viewer sessions!

## Frequently asked questions

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Why is the "% watched" column empty for some sessions?">
    Those sessions happened before February 2nd, 2022, when the feature launched, so the "% watched" data was never captured for them.

  <Accordion title="Does an empty value mean the viewer didn't finish the video?">
    No. It only means the data wasn't captured for that session — not that the viewer skipped or stopped watching.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Will new viewer sessions show "% watched"?">
    Yes. Going forward, "% watched" data is recorded and available for all viewer sessions.
